Fertility Therapy for Men

Supporting emotional wellbeing and lifestyle change in the fertility journey.

About Carl

Carl is Truth Fertility’s male fertility therapist and clinical hypnotherapist, offering specialist emotional and lifestyle support for men navigating fertility challenges. Drawing on his background in hypnotherapy and additional training in fertility therapy, Carl helps patients integrate the lifestyle and wellbeing recommendations provided by our clinical team — creating realistic, sustainable change that supports reproductive health.

His sessions focus on reducing stress, strengthening emotional resilience, and helping patients find practical ways to improve their daily habits — from sleep and nutrition to mindset and self-care. Working collaboratively with our acupuncturists and diagnostics team, Carl plays a key role in ensuring that male patients receive holistic support that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of fertility.

Redressing the Balance

In fertility care, the focus too often falls on women — with men frequently feeling side-lined or unsure how to contribute beyond providing a sample. At Truth Fertility, we recognise that male fertility plays an equal role in conception, and that lifestyle change can have a transformative impact on sperm health and overall outcomes.

Research consistently shows that improvements in diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management can lead to significant changes in semen parameters — sometimes enough to reduce or even remove the need for medical interventions such as IVF drug therapy for female partners.

Carl’s work helps men understand and act on this potential. Through supportive, therapeutic sessions, he guides patients in implementing small but powerful lifestyle adjustments that improve fertility and promote long-term wellbeing. By taking an active role in the process, men often find a renewed sense of confidence and purpose — transforming the journey from something that happens to them into something they can genuinely help shape.

Why lifestyle change matters for sperm health

Men are often told to "improve sperm health" but given very little guidance on what that actually means.

Factors such as vaping, smoking, nicotine use, poor sleep, obesity, stress, alcohol, overheating of the testes and nutritional deficiencies may all influence sperm quality and oxidative stress.

The challenge is not usually knowing that change is needed - it's implementing it consistently.

This is where therapeutic support can help.

Integrating Therapeutic and Clinical Care

Carl’s sessions sit at the heart of our integrated approach to male fertility. Working alongside our acupuncturists and diagnostics team, he helps ensure that emotional, behavioural, and physiological factors are all addressed together — because real change happens when mind and body are aligned.

For patients undergoing investigations such as semen analysis or sperm DNA fragmentation testing, this therapeutic support can make a measurable difference. By easing stress, improving motivation, and supporting the implementation of clinical recommendations, Carl’s work enhances the effectiveness of every part of the fertility plan.

At Truth Fertility, we believe that men deserve the same depth of care, understanding, and empowerment that women receive — and Carl’s role helps make that balance a reality.

Vaping and Male Fertility: Is It Time to Quit Before IVF?

Vaping is often seen as a safer alternative to smoking, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe for sperm. Emerging research has linked vaping to poorer sperm quality, oxidative stress and DNA damage.
