Fertility Diagnostics

Looking beyond standard testing to understand what may be affecting your fertility

Understanding what’s really going on

At Truth Fertility, diagnostics form a central part of how we approach fertility care.

We combine acupuncture with targeted, evidence-informed testing to build a clearer understanding of each individual case, often identifying factors that may previously have gone “unexplained”.

In many cases, it is not that there is no explanation — but that the right investigations have not yet been carried out.

Why diagnostics matter

Fertility is influenced by multiple interacting systems including hormonal balance, metabolic health, sperm integrity, and immune or inflammatory factors.

While traditional approaches may focus on a limited set of markers, more detailed diagnostics can help:

  • Identify underlying causes of “unexplained infertility”
  • Improve IVF outcomes through targeted support
  • Highlight male-factor contributions
  • Guide more precise treatment and lifestyle strategies

Patients often tell us they wish they had explored this level of testing earlier, rather than later in their journey.

How we approach diagnostics

Moving beyond standard testing to a more complete picture

1

Understanding your case

We begin with a detailed review of your fertility history, previous investigations, and any treatments undertaken to date.

This helps identify potential gaps or areas that may not yet have been fully explored.

2

Selecting targeted tests

Testing is chosen based on your individual presentation.

Not all patients require extensive investigations — we focus on selecting the tests most likely to provide meaningful insight.

3

Interpreting results in context

Results are never viewed in isolation.

We interpret findings alongside your clinical history, symptoms, and overall fertility picture to build a more complete understanding.

4

Integrating findings into care

Where relevant, results are used to guide a structured treatment approach, including acupuncture, lifestyle support, and referral for medical input where appropriate.

Types of diagnostic testing we offer

You can explore individual tests below:

Male fertility

Hormonal and metabolic health

Female reproductive health

Nutritional and systemic factors

Sperm DNA Fragmentation Testing

We offer sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) testing in partnership with Examen.

This form of testing provides a more detailed assessment of sperm quality beyond standard semen analysis, and can be particularly relevant in cases of:

  • Unexplained infertility
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Repeated IVF failure

A pattern we often see

Case snapshot

Couple trying to conceive for 2 years
All standard tests “normal”

Further investigation showed elevated sperm DNA fragmentation

Outcome: improvement following targeted support and subsequent natural conception

How diagnostics guide treatment

Testing is not used in isolation.

Results are interpreted alongside your clinical history and used to:

  • Inform acupuncture treatment strategy
  • Guide nutritional and lifestyle changes
  • Identify when medical input may be required

This creates a more structured and personalised approach to care.

Laboratory partnerships

We work with a network of carefully selected laboratories to ensure accuracy and relevance of results.

Testing can be carried out:

  • At home (fingerprick or saliva kits)
  • In clinic
  • Via phlebotomy services where required

Diagnostic testing fees

Costs vary depending on the tests recommended.

You can explore individual pricing on each test page, or discuss options during your consultation.

Considering your next step?

If you're unsure which tests may be appropriate, a consultation can help clarify where further investigation may be useful, and where it may not be needed.
