Clinical outcomes in IVF optimisation - grounded in audit
In our audited cohort of people undergoing acupuncture alongside IVF, clinical pregnancy rates have been above those typical for comparable age-matched groups. Outcomes are reviewed in the context of individual clinical factors, and results are not guaranteed.
- 89% clinical pregnancy rate (defined as heartbeat at 6–8 weeks) in audited cases
- Age of cohort: Under 40 years
- Audit period: 2022–2023
- 37.5% clinical pregnancy rate (defined as heartbeat at 6–8 weeks) in audited cases
- Age of cohort: Over 40 years
- Audit period: 2022–2023
Because every fertility journey is unique, outcomes are best interpreted in individual clinical context.
Research That Supports What We See in Clinic
Authors of a 2008 systematic review published in the British Medical Journal found that IVF with acupuncture increased the odds of pregnancy by 65% (according to early evidence on ultrasound), increased the odds of ongoing pregnancy by 87% (according to ultrasound evidence of pregnancy at 12 weeks) and increased the odds of a live birth by 91% compared with IVF on its own.
